Different Ways to Serve CERELAC: A #ParentingNerd Tip
by XOXO Mrs. Martinez
Mommies, I am sure you are very eager to know more about other tricks I have under my sleeves for your picky little eater. But first, let me tell you more about the proper way of preparing and serving CERELAC to your little one.
Preparation Instructions of serving CERELAC (The Traditional Way):
1. Wash your hands before preparing your child’s food. Make sure all utensils are thoroughly clean.
2. Boil clean drinking water for 5 minutes. Allow to cool. Measure 150ml and pour lukewarm water into child’s bowl.
3. Add 50 grams or 5 level tablespoons of CERELAC.
4. Stir until the cereal is smooth and feed immediately using a clean spoon.
5. Do not keep unfinished portion.
6. Close the pack tightly after each use and store it in a cool dry place.
7. Use before expiration date indicated on the top of the pack.
Serving the right amount of CERELAC gives your child the big nutrition he needs. Getting the right nutrition everyday protects him from the risks of micronutrient deficiencies.
Now that you have learned the proper way of feeding CERELAC to your child, I can share one of the different ways of serving CERELAC to help make feeding your child interesting. I have been getting more and more creative with the food I serve to my little princess lately. After learning her alphabet and numbers at an early age, we are now studying shapes, so I try to incorporate that in this new recipe that I am sharing with you.
I serve CERELAC once or sometimes twice a day. For breakfast, I mix CERELAC Wheat & Mango-Orange with Yogurt to pancakes.
Ingredients:
• 1 Medium-size egg
• 2 Tablespoon oil
• 1/2 Cup water
• 1 200g pack original hotcake mix
• 5 tbsp of CERELAC Wheat & Mango-Orange with Yogurt
Preparation Instructions of CERELAC Wheat & Mango-Orange with Yogurt on pancakes:
1. In a mixing bowl, beat egg slightly.
2. Add in oil, water and hotcake mix.
3. Stir just until slightly lumpy. Do not overmix.
4. Pour 1/4 to 1/3 cup batter onto a pre-heated, slightly greased pan.
5. Cook until bubbly. Turn to cook the other side.
6. Generously sprinkle 5 tbsp of CERELAC Wheat & Mango-Orange with Yogurt on top!
Being a #ParentingNerd, I want her to learn every step of the way! I cut the pancakes into different shapes. That way, she will have fun identifying the shapes as she eats her favorite pancakes!
For an afternoon snack, I pair CERELAC Wheat Banana & Milk with carrot sticks or her favorite fruit, grapes. You can always substitute these with your child's favorite vegetable or fruit. For children between 6 to 24 months, choose the appropriate fruit or vegetables and mash it according to the desired and appropriate texture.
Personally, I think the most recommended time to feed your little one is during breakfast between 8am and 9am, or during afternoon snacks between 4pm and 5pm. The daily recommended serving is 150ml water + 50g (5 tbsp) of CERELAC. Proper nutrition protects my little one from the risks of micro nutrient deficiencies, so I make sure that I serve the proper amount daily..
I hope you enjoyed my simple and easy-to-follow recipes to help keep feeding your child interesting. There's a lot more #ParentingNerd tips so please keep coming back for more!
