How to Make CERELAC Feeding Extra Fun and Yummy: A #ParentingNerd Tip
by The Go Mom
I'm a CERELAC child. My mom fed me with CERELAC when I was young and I continued eating it when I was older! Now that I have kids of my own, CERELAC comes as a natural choice for the solid food for my kids.
It's easy to prepare, the consistency is just right, and it’s nutrient-dense. My kids liked it from Day 1. I introduced my kids to CERELAC when they turned 6 months old.

My Secret to A-OK CERELAC Meal
The key to A-ok CERELAC is the proper preparation. Not rocket science, really. Just prepare 150 ml of warm (not hot!) and clean water and slowly add in 5 tbsp (50g) of CERELAC. Mix until the consistency is smooth, not lumpy or runny. Using warm water will help you achieve the perfect consistency Also, remember that CERELAC should be added to water in the bowl and not the other way around.
Although moms like us are always in a hurry, it is important that the above steps be followed to ensure that our child gets the proper nutrition daily. This protects our child from the risks of micronutrient deficiencies.
How Often Do I Feed CERELAC and Home Prepared Food?
My kids' first and foremost source of nutrition is still breast milk :-) When he turned 6 months old, I fed solids 2-3 times a day (CERELAC or home prepared purees), building up to 5 times a day as they grow older. You can talk to your pediatrician for any of your questions on feeding.
Best Time to Feed CERELAC
I feed CERELAC to my child in the morning for breakfast, two hours after my little one takes his early morning milk. I make sure that feeding time is not too close to his nap time, because I want him to be fully awake to experience the delight of eating.

Feeding is a social experience for me and my children. I make sure that I'm relaxed and not hurried, so I can enjoy warm exchanges with my little one.
CERELAC Combinations
Over the last few years, CERELAC has added new variants that your little one can enjoy! The Multigrain Mixed Fruits and Multigrain Garden Vegetables is recommended for children 12 months old. The newest variant is their yogurt line - Wheat and Cherry and Wheat and Mango-Orange. You and your baby can take a pick of what would be on the menu for the hour:-)
